Sustainability
Atlantis Water Park is committed to sustainable actions and care for the environment. Our efforts are based on the introduction and use of solutions with which we reduce the negative burdens on the environment, improve energy efficiency and give back to the society – all with the aim of ensuring a better future for us all.
Care for the Environment
We reduce our negative impact on the environment with various measures, such as efficient waste management, gradual elimination of plastic (the only plastic used is a recycled one) and use of exclusively eco-friendly detergents and massage oils. We encourage sustainable mobility – in the immediate vicinity of Atlantis Water Park, there are bicycle co-sharing stations as well as vehicle co-sharing stations and an e-vehicle charging station. Since 2014, the lawn alongside Atlantis Water Park has been home to four bee families with an urban beehive. In its immediate vicinity, we planted a meadow with melliferous plants for pasture of bees and other pollinators.
Source and Energy Management
The solar power plant on the rooftop of Atlantis Water Park meets part of the energy needs of the entire complex. For heating the complex and pools, the excess hot water from the nearby AquafilSLO is used. We use water from our own wells to run the complex, and modern filtration systems to minimise water losses. Energy consumption is reduced by energy-saving LED lighting, sensors, covering the pools in the evening to preserve heat and gradually heating the saunas according to occupancy.
Social Responsibility
We support the community in different ways. We cooperate with organisations that help families in social need, support projects, such as Safe Cycling and Eco School. We cooperate with numerous sports societies and syndicates as well as patient associations, which use our pools for their rehabilitation.
